KQ MiniSynth is a versatile polyphonic modular synthesizer application that offers users the ability to craft unique sounds by connecting various modules such as oscillators, envelope generators, filters, and more. The app allows you to freely add or remove up to 100 modules based on your device's capabilities.
One of the strengths of the modular system is its educational value, allowing users to gain insight into the functions of different modules while patching them together.
The Patch-Editing view supports zoom functionality, enabling seamless connection of modules through simple taps. The app comes with 71 presets and supports External and Virtual MIDI, as well as MIDI over Bluetooth LE, acting as a Central device. Additionally, it features Inter-App Audio, Audiobus support, Ableton Link integration, and includes an Audio Unit Extension (AUv3 Instrument).
For troubleshooting, the app also provides helpful FAQ responses addressing common issues users may encounter related to output volume and note velocity within the Audio Unit.
With an extensive array of modules such as oscillators, mixers/amplifiers, envelope/logic controllers, modulators, filters/effectors, clocks, stereo/mono converters, and miscellaneous tools like oscilloscopes and custom controllers, KQ MiniSynth offers diverse options for sound manipulation.
If you experience any performance issues such as noise or stuttering sounds, the app recommends adjusting settings like polyphony count, buffer size, and connected modules to optimize performance.
The recent addition of Audiobus support allows for seamless audio streaming to other Audiobus-compatible apps. Moreover, the integration of Ableton Link technology facilitates synchronization between Ableton Live and Link-enabled iOS apps wirelessly.
